I   FOUND  AN  EGG  ON  THE  WAY  TO  SCHOOL
Oh my the exciting stories you can get from this title.  Your students have to do a beginning, middle, and ending which must include lots of imagination which our students are usually so good at when it comes to talking about different things.  I read them an example which just so happened to be my version of the story with lots of details and hilarious things that my egg did and appeared looking at in different situations just to get their brains a churning a bit.  Then reminded them that I didn't want any of my story repeated in their stories--and they all said they understood that.  So I shall see when I get their stories who remembered that I actually said that?????  We are going to put the final draft together in the cutest way a hatching egg and even decorated.

THE EASTER BUNNY IS ON HIS WAY
Imaginary fun with young children is so much fun.  To listen to their excitement of the holiday play that we provide them with leads to so many exciting learning experiences in the classroom.  Stories to write, problem solving involving Easter eggs or candy, spelling words, science experiments to see how long it takes to achieve a certain darkness of a color.  Social Studies to see where Easter originated from, where the Easter Bunny came into play, why jelly beans are associated so much with Easter.  The list of ideas is as far as the teacher's imagination.

MAY THE LUCK OF THE
 IRISH BE WITH YOU
First off did you remember to wear green today.  Yes, then you are off to a great start.  You certainly don't want to get an Elf upset today.  Do your tests today thoughtfully so that the Elf can report back to the workers how hard you are working.  I hope everyone is doing super fun activities.

SINGING TO YOUR OWN TUNE
In your classroom you have your bass and tenor singers and everything in between.  All together they can make some harmony and other times it can sound like some are singing out of tune.  Our job, as the Teacher, is to make sure that everyone feels included in that chorus and is well represented.  Remember everyone needs to be nurtured no matter where they are singing or fitting in on the learning curve.

GOOD MORALE
Teaching good morale is a very important character trait to teach students in the classroom.  Many of them have to be shown/or taught how to have compassion for someone who has gotten hurt or sick.  How to cooperate and be considerate when playing.  How to have the courage and perseverance to keep trying even if they don't get it the first time.  To be generous, honest, and respectful of their friendships.  Sometimes some lessons on these character traits help the students better understand how much these traits can cause someone to have hurt feelings very easily and that someone could be them.

H O M E W O R K
When it comes to homework organization is the key.  Have a set place for homework with all of the supplies that you would need to do the homework set up there and a set time for homework.  That saves time from the gecko.  Homework is intended to give the child extended practice on the skill or skills they just did in the classroom.  They should be able to do it by themselves.  If they can't then you need to have a conference with the teacher to find out and request homework that is appropriate for your child to be able to do.  It is nice to go over the homework with your child after they have finished it.  So you are aware of what they are doing in the classroom and also developing a nice relationship with your child and their work.
