WHAT  IS  IMPORTANT

Learning to count and our ABC's are important but life lessons are something that need to be addressed in every classroom as part of each student's curriculum starting at the beginning grades.  The Teacher needs to spend time demonstrating generosity, politeness, integrity, effort, courage, resiliance, gratitude, faith, and kindess in the classroom.  Discuss the meanings of the words, she needs to have the students role play activities using the words correctly.  The Teacher needs to recognize when children are displaying these roles and praise them.  

S U M M E R  F U N

So many fun different ways your child can enjoy playing outside using water in a variety of ways. They can stay cool by the pool or they don't even need a pool to play these games. Children need to stay active during the summer and not be tied to the TV or computer all day. So having a list of some creative outdoor and indoor activities to give to your children every once in awhile is eciting for them.  It is something new and exciting for them.  Who doesn't like to have something like that to look forward to.  Make sure your children have a great enjoyable SUMMER!!!

TO  ALL  THE  MEN

Father's Day and Mother's Day are tricky holidays for many children.  Many don't have all of those figures present in their families.  So in the school setting many Teachers have just named the holiday Parent's Day so not to upset any student in the classroom when it comes time to make cards and/or gifts for someone in the family.  That way even if it is a Grandparent, some other family member, friend, etc. in charge of the child they can make something for whoever is in charge of them.  Some child may have a family member that is deceased so it could be a very emotional time for them so that is something that the Teacher should be aware of.  Happy Father's Day to everyone that gets to be that SPECIAL DAD!!!!

S U M M E R T I M E

School is out for the summer and tight scheduling is done for a couple of months.  So it is still a good time to instill some type of daily chores that each child has a certain amount of responsibility to check each day to see what they have to do and make sure that it is done by the proper time it needs to be done.  Of course, depending on the age of the child will depend on the amount of chores and what they consist of.  They should be well aware of the consequences, ahead of time, if they do not complete the chores.  Also, of course, over a period of time for being responsible and ALWAYS completing the chores they should also be rewarded unless, of course, they are getting an allowance and that is considered their award for the chores.

H A P P I N E S S

Some children's facial expressions just are full of HAPPINESS.  Others just have that sad withdrawn look that you just wish that HAPPINESS was a natural thing for them.  Unfortunately for some it isn't as easy to turn that "LIGHT" on as it is for others.  They aren't given the opportunity to see the HAPPINESS, for many reasons, as others might be able to.  It might be their living conditions, their learning difficulties, their personality, medical problems, and/or something else that is preventing their HAPPINESS.  So in the classroom it is important for the Teacher to provide as many happy and exciting experiences so we bring HAPPINESS to everyone as many times a day as we can.  SPREAD HAPPINESS!!!!
